To our steadfast supporters,
It is time to joyfully announce the opening of Francisco Park!
The park will officially open to the public with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 27th at 11 a.m. by Mayor London Breed, along with Supervisor Catherine Stefani and Recreation and Parks General Manager Phil Ginsburg. We invite you to join us in celebrating this triumphant moment in San Francisco history!
We also invite you to join us on Saturday, April 30th, as Francisco Park will mark its first public weekend. We will be out in the park starting at 10 a.m. to host a few activities, meet neighbors, and provide wayfaring to our new visitors!
Thanks to you and a host of generous supporters, the Francisco Park Conservancy raised over $27.5 million of private funds to transform the abandoned reservoir into a glorious 4.5 acre park for all to enjoy.
So many of you have shown your support in ways both large and small — cheering us on, speaking up in meetings, rallying your neighbors. While many of your names will be on view as donors, ALL of you have contributed your effort and enthusiasm at pivotal moments in this transformation.
We hope Francisco Park will hold a special place in your heart for many years to come. We can’t wait to see you there!
Warmly,
Leslie Alspach
Francisco Park Conservancy Board President
