Three Great Years!

To our Russian Hill friends and neighbors,

I was delighted to see so many of you at Francisco Park last month for our third-anniversary celebration. It was a joy to honor our achievement—not only constructing a brand-new, 4.5-acre park for San Francisco, but also fostering a thriving ecosystem and community over the past three years.

A great park isn’t finished when the ribbon is cut–it is for the ages. It lives, evolves, even outlives its architects—so its true caretakers must be the community.

With this spirit in mind, I ask for your continued support as we mark our third anniversary.

Unlike other parks in the city, Francisco Park is sustained by a unique partnership with the City of San Francisco. Ten years ago, when the land for the Park was provided by the City, we committed not only to raising the funds for and building the park, but also to share in its ongoing care—an annual upkeep obligation of approximately $400,000. This partnership is our generation’s promise to the next.

Please claim your share of stewardship by joining—or renewing—your Stewards support here today. The park depends on each of us giving as generously as we can to ensure it continues to flourish.

I look forward to thanking you in person at our upcoming Stewards events, which include Coffee Klatches, Volunteer Workdays, Yoga Classes, and Cocktail Receptions (at higher giving levels). See the calendar of events below.

Thank you for helping to ensure that when future San Franciscans visit our hilltop oasis, they’ll feel the same joy we do in this place and know that others, generations before, worked to ensure its survival.

With heartfelt gratitude for your Stewardship,

Marc Meyer
Board President, Francisco Park Conservancy
