Dear Francisco Park Supporters,
We have GREAT news to share: Francisco Park is funded!
Thanks to your generosity, Francisco Park has raised the $27.5M required to build a park for all on the site of San Francisco’s first reservoir. Just as the reservoir was built by hand with picks and shovels, the heavy lifting of fundraising was accomplished gift by gift, dollar by dollar, over the last decade. The kindness and generosity of so many friends and neighbors made this foggy dream a sunny reality, and the result will be shared and celebrated by so many locals and visitors alike.
We expect Francisco Park will officially open in the Fall! While we have many reasons to celebrate today, our fundraising journey continues…According to our agreement with SF Recreation and Parks, the Conservancy is responsible for maintaining the park which we estimate to be approximately $400K each year, to help ensure the beauty and safety of the park for future generations.
Thank you again to each of you who dug deep and made the park possible. It will be a great day when we can thank you in person on the paths of the Park.
Warmest wishes,
Francisco Park Conservancy
