Francisco Park Leadership Announcement
We are thrilled to welcome Tom Gage as incoming Board President for the Francisco Park Conservancy. Tom recently relocated to San Francisco from the Washington D.C. area where he enjoyed a long career as an accomplished gastroenterologist. Since retirement, Tom has been exploring other passions including the study of plants and gardens. While in D.C, he was a docent at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, and he currently docents with SF City Guides. He also leads an incredibly rich and informative tour of Francisco Park, which if you have not yet experienced, we highly recommend you do!
Tom, and his wife Susan, are ardent fans of San Francisco and have already proven themselves as godsends to the community through their service to the Conservancy as well as Russian Hill Neighbors, Refuse Refuse, and the Tenderloin Community Benefit District. Having run a very successful event company in D.C., Susan has generously shared her talents and has hosted numerous incredibly unforgettable events for the Conservancy and the many organizations she is involved with.
Tom assumes the park reins from Marc Meyer who has been the Conservancy’s fearless Board President since the park opened almost 4 years ago! Thanks to Marc’s strong leadership during the park’s critical maiden years, Francisco Park is thriving and in great shape for Tom Gage to step in and forge this next chapter for the park.
Thank you, Marc, for your incredible service and welcome, Tom (and Susan) – we look forward to watching Francisco Park further blossom under your leadership.

2026 Calendar of Events It brings us no greater joy than to host events that build and connect our Russian Hill community. If you have an idea for an event you’d like to organize at Francisco Park this year, let us know. New this year, we are helping host Dads with Strollers, a monthly gathering for dads to gather and connect! Our first event in January was a resounding success with 40+ dads in attendance. Join us for our next gathering on Sunday, February 22 from 10am – 12noon. This event will be postponed to a later date, if it rains. The best way to engage with and support Francisco Park is to become a Steward. Unlike other parks in San Francisco, Francisco Park is privately funded which means we rely on this community to contribute each year and ensure our park stays beautiful and thriving! |
