We hope you’ve noticed construction of Francisco Park is underway in a big way!

One of the landmarks of the park is the Rainwater Catchment System, which Cahill Contractors has just installed, (see photo below). It’s a national benchmark for sustainability! It will store 500,000 gallons of water which can almost fully irrigate the park.

Many of you have been on the site for hard hat tours, and have witnessed the work of the contractors. We are grateful for the efficiency with which Cahill is working. Their spirit of cooperation has impressed us, too!

After years of planning, the task at hand is to reach our goal of raising $2.5M before the end of the year. To date, we are at 19% of this effort, with $480,000 raised. The plan was to begin construction without further delays, and despite the need for some further funding, in August the site work of building the base park began.

Now with a most successful beginning, we are determined to fulfill our original vision for the park with an Overlook, Community Garden, and ADA-accessible paths to allow visitors to wind up from Bay Street to upper Hyde Street.

As the park construction continues at a fast pace, we are delighted to launch our social media presence. Perhaps, you’d like to follow the progress on Instagram: @franciscoparksf.

When Francisco Park is completed in late 2020, we hope you will have been a part of this truly amazing community effort, either as a much valued repeat donor, or someone who is ready to join us with a first time gift.

To learn about becoming a Leadership Donor, as well as Francisco Park Recognition Opportunities, please contact Miegan Riddle at [email protected].

Many, many thanks for your participation!
