To our dear Francisco Park Community,
Francisco Park’s 3rd Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, April 27 was a smash success!
While the weather could have been warmer, sunshine emanated from the 300+ folks who turned out for the event.
The morning kicked off with a fabulous yoga class with Diane Lê Strain, on the Lawn and a coffeeklatch with Francisco Park Stewards.
At noon the tenor in the park shifted as kids arrived to partake in the Bubbles and Face Paint by Happycake Facepainting and bakers came to drop off their cakes for the Cake Picnic. It was unclear who was more gleeful – the kids, chasing enormous rainbow bubbles and getting their faces painted with stars and butterflies or the bakers, oohing and ahhing as colorful, imaginative cakes filled the tables.
Supervisors Danny Sauter and Stephen Sherrill arrived amidst the spectacle and tipped their hats to the community for creating such an incredible, beloved oasis in Russian Hill. A group of 25 kids from Yick Wo Elementary School and Lorenzo the accordionist serenaded Francisco Park with a birthday song and then…the Cake Picnic commenced!
For those who joined, thank you for making the day such a triumph. For those who weren’t with us, you were missed and we hope you’ll treat yourself to a slice of cake to celebrate 3 years of Francisco Park.
We look forward to hosting more celebrations to bring our sweet community together. If you aren’t yet a Steward, please join us today to ensure the magic continues at Francisco Park.
See you at the Park,
Francisco Park Conservancy
