We are incredibly excited to announce construction is starting on Francisco Park!
This would not have been possible without your support. Upon completion, Francisco Park will be the City’s newest public park. This is a unique public and private collaboration between the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department (RPD) and the Francisco Park Conservancy. In 2014, RPD acquired the land for use as a park; then financial support from so many of you helped fund the design and construction.
Our community came together under a single vision – to invest in our City for future generations. We wanted to create something that will leave a lasting and meaningful impression for children and adults to connect to nature. We are grateful to each and every one of you for believing in this park project. We saw potential, took input from the community, and today – with all of your help – Francisco Park is becoming a reality.
Over the course of the next month the construction team will install fencing around the perimeter of the site, clear brush, and begin the process of transforming the old reservoir. For construction updates and general project questions, please visit RPD’s website.
Francisco Park is estimated to be completed in late 2020.
Whatever you are looking forward to most – letting your dog off leash in a new fenced dog park, indulging in that book you have been meaning to read on a bench among beautiful San Francisco-native plants, having somewhere nearby your kids can play, or taking in a view of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge as the sun goes down – you will find it at Francisco Park and know you were a part of making it happen.
Thank you.
